New and Exciting plans

I’ve gotten really into Club Sandwiches recently. Have any of the readers of Texpatriate ordered the club sandwich from the 59 diner? Wait, wait, this is too early, I have some slightly more serious stuff to get to first.

The Texas Tribune reports that, come Monday, Rick Perry will make the announcement we have all been waiting for. He will travel to San Antonio and deliver a speech in which he will disclose “new and exciting plans.” The speech is likely to explain Perry’s exact plans for both 2014 and 2016, although I really only care about the former election at this time.

It is no secret that the Editorial Board of the Tribune thinks Perry will not seek re-election (somebody must have a financial stake in Abbott assuming office {that’s a joke}), but I seem to think he will give it another shot. Logic and reason just do not sway Rick Perry. Obviously, if Perry does not run, it is Abbott’s coronation right then and there. If he does, it opens up the question of if Abbott runs against him or not.

But we will have time to talk about all that later this week. Right now, I’d like to make an announcement of my own.  This upcoming Monday, immediately proceeding the Governor’s speech, I will give a speech of my own, livestreamed on this website. I will be discussing some “new and exciting plans” of my own. Here’s a hint, it has to do with the picture above. I will discuss these wonderful Club Sandwiches, and the best places to consume them in the city, for roughly 5 minutes. At the conclusion of this surely momentous oration, I invite all my viewers to note the number of factual and substantial claims I made in the speech. Then, compare it to Perry’s speech. I feel like it will be pretty easy to win, but I would like to keep it close.
